2. Value Criterion 3. Contentions Value: An intrinsic "good" that pertains the the resolution and is defended/protected/maximized through the case. Example values: Justice, Liberty, Human Rights, ect. Value Criterion: The standard by which the value is measured, or weighed. Contentions: Core supporting arguments in a case.
